What Is Different About Busters Dog Training Methods?

We educate dog owners, we don’t train dogs. There are basically three ways to train a dog: using treats (bribing the dog with food), physical methods (using things like prong collars and shock collars to coerce a dog to do something), and then there is what we do.  Treats are okay to give just because you love your pup.  But, you never see a mama dog handing out treats to her pups to get them to behave.  She educates them in them using canine methods.  Dogs avoid physicality and so do we!  Being physical breeds physicality and can undermine a dog’s trust.  Plus, there is no educational value in either treat training or physical methods.  Our training is based on dog psychology and communication (no treats required and no harmful or physical methods ever!).  We use social order and dog speak (voice tones and body language) to establish YOU as the leader of the pack and educate your dog.  Once your dog understands its place in the pecking order, he will gladly relinquish control knowing that his safety lies with you.

What You Can Expect:

Bark Busters comes to your home, where most of the issues occur and where your dog is most comfortable.  I become your personal dog training expert and devise a personalized plan for your dog’s temperament and issues.  The first session is about 2 – 2.5 hours and consists of:

  • An observation of your dog’s behavior and the specific issues that you want addressed.
  • A lesson in dog behavior (how dogs live together in families and communicate).
  • Training in a proven method to communicate “stop” to the dog in a way that the he/she understands (without having to use treats or physical methods).
  • Several training exercises used to practice communication and establish you as “leader of the pack”.
  • Development of a training regimen for you to follow daily.

And, the best part?  You will see changes during our first lesson!
